Meet Our Professionals
David Nesbitt, PGA
Director of Golf
David started at The Havens Country Club (formerly Vista Valley Country Club) in March 2021. He has been a Class A PGA Professional since 2005 and serves on the San Diego Chapter PGA Board. David has worked at several private clubs up and down the California coast, most recently as the Director of Instruction at Bernardo Heights CC. David is committed to helping you improve your game, which means having more fun playing golf! His teaching philosophy is to keep golf instruction as uncomplicated and easy to understand as possible, no matter the golfer’s skill level or experience. David teaches private lessons and group clinics and spearheads our junior clinics and programming.
Justin Williams , PGA Associate
1st Assistant Golf Professional
Justin joined the team at The Havens Country Club in May of 2023. His aspirations in golf started when he was 6 from his grandfather who taught him how to play. He played golf for high school earning MVP senior year. He then continued his golfing career at PGCC where he won the 2023 spring semester champion award. While attending PGCC, he passed his PAT and is now a PGA Associate. Justin is working to complete the PGA Program. He has a daughter, Dahlia and fiancé, CeCe. Justin is excited to be a part of such a fantastic team and looks forward to building relationships with the memberships everyday.
Keith Moles
2nd Assistant Golf Professional
Keith grew up playing golf at his grandparents' very own executive course, Sunset Ridge Golf Course. He spent much of his childhood and adolescence playing competitive golf leading him to play Division 1 golf at UCSB where he acquired a B.A. in Economics. He decided to pursue his PGA membership as a means to continue his golf career and expand his knowledge of the industry and game.
The PGA & LPGA teaching professionals at The Havens Country Club offer instruction and guidance for your golf game at every level. Whether you’re a scratch golfer looking for some fine-tuning or picking up a club for the first time, your professionals will provide the technical skills and mental strategies to help you play your ultimate best. You and your professional will work together to determine your goals and create a personal lesson and practice plan to meet your needs. Part of the golf strategy is to develop a strong relationship with your goals as a golfer to get you ready to play in various fun and engaging weekly games, golf outings, and tournaments or enjoy a fun, relaxing round on the weekend with your friends and family. No matter your goals in this fantastic game of golf, your professionals are your on-site, on-hand partners to help you every step of the way. Developing strong, long-term relationships with your professionals will help you meet your goals and maximize your enjoyment of the game.
A few options include individual lessons, playing lessons (on-course instruction), beginning golfer lesson series, junior camps, specialty clinics, and corporate events incorporating a golf outing.
Individual & Group Golf Lessons
The Havens Country Club features a private, 12-stall, grass practice range with multiple target greens to aim for, two short game practice areas and a large, rolling putting green all exclusively for our golf members and their guests.
The short game practice areas feature a hidden sanctuary with an elevated green to practice blasting from a greenside bunker, and a second green and pitching area winding along the natural river bed terrain of the valley. The areas help you refine your short game skills and give you a perspective of how the course actually plays. These areas resemble similar features and nuances of the actual championship course. Just remember, practice makes perfect!

Junior Programs
The Havens Country Club (formerly Vista Valley Country Club) Membership provides the member who is looking to enjoy our spectacular, innovative dining and social experience. Celebrate in an elegant and gracious atmosphere that makes you feel important whenever you’re entertaining. Our food, prepared by our Chef de Cuisine, is regional fare that sets the dining experience apart in the surrounding North County, San Diego area. We offer a gracious dining room, panoramic bar, and lounge, spacious and inviting outdoor terraces, lush outdoor park areas or picnic areas. As a member, you can host corporate, philanthropic, or personal family holiday gatherings at the country club in one of the clubhouse's unique and spacious banquet areas or park.
All members enjoy events such as Prime Rib night, Thursday night Happy Hour featuring live music and often accompanied with wine and chocolate tastings, and bi-weekly date nights for members with children who want to engage in the social kid’s activities of the club. Our membership enjoys monthly book clubs, weekly bridge and duplicate bridge groups, poker, slide gin, bingo, monthly art and flower design classes, seasonal dance classes, and much more. Members can easily book full-service spa treatments in the clubhouse provided by our sister property’s team members from the world-renowned Cal-A-Vie Health Spa. Dining and wine aficionados are welcome; this membership affords the finer culinary and social aspects in a private country club membership.
Shop the latest mens and women's premium golf, tennis and fitness apparel in the spacious Pro Shop. The shop carries top-tier brands such as TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist, Adidas, Puma, Cobra, Iliac, SanSoleil, and Jamie Sadock. We also feature a variety of golf balls, gloves, shoes, accessories, premium sunscreen protection and a large selection of headwear for both on and off the course. The Team also provides golf club re-gripping and repairs.
As an additional advantage, you can use your “scrip” winnings from the WGA and MGA weekly play to purchase fun seasonal favorites and top brands at affordable prices! Our golf professionals provide you with personal shopping assistance that helps you find that special item not found in retail locations by offering you the opportunity to have us help secure your custom request. A special feature for our members are the clothing Trunk Shows, Custom Club Fittings and Demo Days. These events offer great personal service, exceptional value purchasing opportunities and a unique look at new product launches for clubs and balls.

Pro Shop Services
The Havens Country Club is for the exclusive use of its members and their guests, with the exception of weddings, community events corporate meetings, and sponsored golf tournaments.
We request our members follow a few club standards: Dress code, cell phone use, tipping and other topics that may make your visit more comfortable. The Club expects all members and guests to adhere to these standards, befitting a private club.
